It doesn't matter how much bandwidth you have at your end. You will still be limited by the maximum allowed by ANet.

Sounds like a bug then, because the -image parameter should do what you want.

1)install game
2)use -image 3)go watch tv 4)copy the .dat file in your GW folder to a backup location (you will need about 4-5 gigs of disk space if I recall) 5)PROFIT! You will never have to go through the hassle ever again. If you need to make a fresh install or if your GW file some how gets corrupted just copy your backup .dat file back into your GW folder and you are done. It's only a pain the first time around while you wait for the -image to complete. |

There might be something wrong on your end. -image worked for me when I installed it onto my second PC and has worked for many other people.

After that, go to C:\Program Files\Guild Wars and copy Gw.dat to another folder or whatever. Then burn it to a dvd (its nearly a 4gb download in all so a cd isnt suitable), or copy it to an external hard drive. Once youve done that you wont have to do all the major downloading anymore. If you have to re-install the program again, you only need to download the client and install as far as getting to the login screen. then shut the client down and copy the Gw.dat file you have backed up to the Guild Wars folder, overwriting the Gw.dat that is in the folder. Voila! with the exception of your templates and screens folder, it will be exactly the way you had it |

sorry but i disagree... Ive done it that way and it just gives you a clean dat file as tho you just installed from cd.. you still have to map jump all over to get the instances all loaded, etc. he wants it so he doesnt have to deal with waiting for first time instance downloads, etc. and the only way to do that is to map jump to all the places you already have access to and then back up the dat file when yer done.. then restoring/writing the file to the guild wars folder if you have to reinstall.
I find thats the most effective way.. its what works for me anyways. |

-image has always worked for me. When loading map, is it actually downloading files(displays number of files downloading), or does it jump from 0 to 100%, but slowly? If it is jumping to 100%, it is a problem on your end. If it is displaying the number of files downloading and it is going very slowly, it is probably either a problem on your end or a slow connection.
Like it has been stated, -image has worked for many, many people, so the fact that you are having a problem with it screams either user error or computer/connection problems. |

We have, and we have given you your answer. Perhaps you should try reading that. The -image command has worked for everybody I have come across, so maybe, just maybe, it's you that is doing something wrong. |

Wow, talk about rude. You post asking for help and then insult everyone that's tried to help.
-image works. Period. If it isn't working for you then you probably aren't using it correctly. Modify your desktop shortcut. It likely looks something like "C:\Program Files\Guild War\Gw.exe" Change it to "C:\Program Files\Guild War\Gw.exe" -image and run the game. I'm not a troll, i'm just giving you the same answer that everyone else in the thread did. If it doesn't work then you aren't doing it correctly. |

The -image command does download everything. BUT it doesn't decompress everything. As far as I know, there's no way to make it decompress everything as well.
In the future you make not want to take such a standoffish attitude to the people trying to help you. Figure it out yourself.
